Stacy Desprez grew up in Bremen and started taking dance at the age of 4. Her love for dance took her to The Atlanta School of Ballet at the age of 13 to train with the youth ensemble 3 days a week. At ASB, Stacy started assisting Joan Lather with tap and jazz classes in addition to the classes she was taking. At the age of 18, Stacy auditioned for and received a scholarship to the Joe Tremaine Dance Centre in Los Angeles, CA. There, she trained with some of the best teachers in the world. Stacy has also trained with choreographers Mia Michaels, Doriana Sanchez, Brian Friedman and Dan Karaty from the TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance." She returned home in December of 1990 to pursue her dream of opening a dance studio. Stacy lives in Bremen with her husband James and their daughters, Mackenzie and Reese.
Janet Nichols has been teaching at Stacy's Dance Centre since 1997. Prior to teaching, she was a student at Stacy's from 1995-1997. She first began her dance training in Germany at the age of 3, continuing at Furman and Gray Studio in Oklahoma, and then joining Stacy's Dance Centre in 1995. Dancing has always been such an important part of her life. Being raised in the military was not always easy, and dance was one stable element through it all. When she started at Stacy's, she was a little shy. Stacy brought out the self-confident entertainer in Janet. When Stacy gave Janet the opportunity to continue as a teacher at the studio, Janet was elated. Now she feels that she has a chance to encourage self-esteem and self-confidence in young dancers just as Stacy encouraged her!
Kelly has been dancing for 15 years. She joined Stacy's Dance Centre in 1996, where she danced and competed with Stacy's Senior Company group. In 1999, Kelly won the Rising Star award for best solo performance at the Rising Star competition in Atlanta. She graduated from Alexander High School in Douglasville and went on to pursue a B.F.A. in dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After a year, Kelly transferred to Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Kelly studied extensively in modern, ballet, tap and jazz as well as receiving her degree from Webster. She choreographed and performed in student and annual ensemble concerts. After graduating, Kelly moved to Los Angeles and studied for two years at the Edge Performing Arts Center. There, she studied with Doug Caldwell, Dee Caspary, Eddie Garcia, Denise Leitner and many other famous choreographers in today's dance world. Kelly returned home and worked at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta impersonating Britney Spears, Pat Benatar and Peggy Lee. She also choreographed for the Alexander High Musical (her alma mater), and she is very excited to be back with Stacy's Dance Centre.
